I can't sleep without socks.
Time for something lighter (but, still revealing) <3
---
I can't sleep without socks.
I took Italian for eight years.
My pajama game isn't exactly sexy, but my romance language is on-point. Ciao!
I was part of the sewing club in middle school.
The only recipe I know by heart is for chocolate chip cookies.
I can sew a stuffed animal and feed your soul, but I never learned how to fix a hem. I can also sew buttons and fix holes in shirts and pants.
I have been to Nicaragua six times to build homes with my church in New York and neighboring temple.
I dropped choir and took up Spanish for two years in high school so that I could speak to the kids in Nicaragua.
I cannot sing, and I cannot speak Spanish - but, I really tried. A for effort?
My dream jobs have ranged from astronaut like Sally Ride, to Supreme Court justice like RBG, to Barack Obama's speechwriter.
The career test I took in middle school said I should be a mortician. Think about the job security, people!
I do none of those things, but if you know Jon Favreau personally, let's talk.
The smell of coffee in the morning is the most wonderful smell there is.
Dunkin' Donuts is better than Starbucks. Is it just "Dunkin'" now?
I know more about franchising a DD than I ever planned on - Thanks, Tepper! Just in case none of my dream jobs work out, ya know?
I failed the New York state driver's test once because of the parallel park.
I am the worst navigator and cardinal directions mean nothing to me.
I know where the best nail salon is and I don't need any help getting there or parking. Just getting home...so I don't ruin my nails.
I have been to all 50 states. Yep, even Iowa. I touched the dirt, so it counts. That's part of my stockpile of "fun facts" for team building activities.
I still have a list of places to travel longer than the systems requirements I used to write.
I spent the majority of my vacation time the last several years on business school. But, I’m going to Italy this summer! Maybe I’ll remember something from my eight years of foreign language education - Vorrei avere il limoncello, per favore (check out that verb conjugation!). Dov'e' il bagno?
I have two dogs less than 30 pounds each.
I have a king-size bed.
We three sleep on one side of the bed. Making the bed is really simple in the morning. Yes, I make my bed every morning.
I love going to the grocery store to oggle new stuff.
Look at that huge jar of capers! Look at the new Oreo flavor! Look at that kid wailing, where are her parents? ZUCCHINI SPIRALS - Def need those!
Where did my cart go...
I am always cold and sometimes my fingers turn purple.
My favorite color is purple.
Maybe I should change my favorite color to pink... The dogs do keep me warm though.
I believe that y'all is a word. I’ve been known to drop a few in professional settings.
And that fried chicken + bubbly = perfection.
New York was "home" for a very long time, but the South has my heart.
I was almost called "Kathy".
I am not a "Chatty Kathy."
Wine helps. Red and dry and bold.
Another fun fact from the stockpile: I share a birthday with Barack Obama and Meghan Markle.
-BO, I'd just like to say that I'm really disappointed you never invited me to your birthday parties since I basically live down the street. But, I'd vote for you for 10 more terms if I could.
-Meghan, I'll babysit anytime.
And one more thing: No day is complete without a piece of chocolate.
with love,
KB
